Stockton is a lush

Yep, Stockton has been to several bars already.  Tonight was his 3rd bar in his short existence.  He has been to the Brickstore Pub and Thinking Man’s Tavern both in Decatur but tonight he attended the Wolverine Wedding pre-party at Yogi’s bar in Bloomington, Indiana.  There were so many people that wanted to hold Stockton there that we didn’t even have to worry about Stockton at all.  By the end of the night Stockton was passed out…

We asked for beers and they brought us both a pitcher...first time there but it is like they knew our names!

Stockton meets Lily

On our way to the Wolverine wedding, we stopped in Bowling Green, Kentucky (home of the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers) to introduce Stockton to some family.  Stockton met Morgan’s cousin Keith and his wife Whitney and their daughter Lily and Morgan’s Aunt Nancy and Uncle Dennis.  Here are some pics:

Happy Anniversary (no thanks to Cold Stone Creamery…

That’s right.  We are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary today.  We called cousin Rebekah to come babysit and then headed down to Atlantic Station for dinner.  When we were in New York City several years ago we ate at Rosa Mexicano.  The have guacamole that they make at your table.  After we moved here they built a Rosa Mexicano in Atlantic Station.  We have been wanting to go down there ever since and this was our first opportunity.

So, we sat down and ordered our gaucamole and while the waiter made it at our table we looked around and commented on the couple that was seated not far from us.  They had their very small baby with them.  We chuckled about how this was probably their “cheap mexican restaurant” that they just go to when neither one of them had time to cook dinner like we go to places like Sangrias and Los Bravos.  But for us Rosa Mexicano was nice enough to be our anniversary dinner!

After the meal, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert and we passed knowing that there was a Cold Stone Creamery just around the corner.  So, we headed to the Creamery and started to salivate as we got near.  We could almost taste the chocolate and peanut butter mixtures in the warm waffle cones.  We get to the counter and order.  The girl behind the counter says “that will be without peanut butter.”  Morgan and I looked at each other in confusion.  “What?”  She went on to explain that they were still not serving anything with peanut butter in it because of the peanut recall.  I asked “How are you going to make a Peanut Butter Cup Perfection with no peanut butter since its ingredients are icecream, peanut butter, fudge, and a peanut butter cup?”  She responded “It will be chocolate ice cream with fudge.  Do you want that or can I make something else for you?”  That is when I said, “This is ridiculous.  We are leaving.”  And we did leave.  We stopped at DQ on our way home!

Now, I understand there was a peanut scare.  But, peanut butter was never in question and Reeses’ products were never in question.  Cold Stone Creamery needs to get a new legal department that can research the facts!  Or at a minimum they should have a sign on the door and on the menu and on the glass counter explaining that they are not serving peanut butter!

Happy Anniversary Morgan!  Even if Cold Stone tried to ruin it…

Youth group welcomes Stockton

The youth group welcomed Morgan back tonight and got a chance to meet Stockton.  They had a cake and some games for everyone to play and even a present.  Here are some pics of some of the kids (and adults) Stockton will look up to:

2 months old

Last month we celebrated Stockton’s 1 month birthday 4 weeks after he was born.  My cousin Douglass who shares the same birthday (1/27) as Stockton called us out because 4 weeks wasn’t on February 27, it was on Februay 24.  So, to make Douglass happy we are now celebrating Stockton’s monthly birthday’s on the 27th of each month.  So here is Stockton on his 2 month birthday (which is actually 8 weeks and 3 days since his birthday, but who is counting):

Already charming the older women

We went to visit our friends Stewart and Susan and their 9 month old Ellie a few weekends ago.  The two of them were very cute together.  Susan took some great pictures which you can see on their blog.  We look forward to many years of these two playing together.  And Stockton got to show off his War Eagle onesie that was made by another friend, Sarah Kathryn‘s mom, Stacey.  Can’t wait for Stockton to get to meet Sarah Kathryn and all of our friends in Birmingham.

Nanininajar

Stranger: “Oh what a cute baby!  What is his name?”

Morgan: “Stockton.”

Stranger: “What are you going to call him?”

Robert: “Nanininajar.”

Stranger walks away perplexed.  Robert and Morgan revel in the fact that they have once again confused someone while managing to to entertain themselves.

Moral of the story: Dont ask stupid questions!

Snow Day in Atlanta

It snowed here today.  I know for some of you that isn’t a big deal, but since I have spent my entire life in two states (Georgia and Alabama) it is a big deal to me.  Stockton got to see his first snow even if I couldn’t hold him due to the shingles.  Morgan bundled him all up and took him out while I took pictures and threw snow at the dog.  Seeing snow this early is going to give Stockton the wrong impression that it ALWAYS snows in Atlanta.  Here is a pic:
