Morgan went to Honduras for a week with the youth group. She left last Saturday morning and returned yesterday evening. My mom (Janny) came to visit for the week and to take care of Stockton. Thank goodness for Janny; she cooked, she cleaned, and she took care of Stockton. It was hard with Morgan being gone for a week, but we survived. Thanks Janny (and Big who came on Thursday evening to visit as well)!

We know we have been slackers on the posting. Since this Saturday AM is the first few minutes we have had to even think about it, we got up, made waffles in the waffle iron, and are now going to make several posts. We are going to back date them, so scroll down…

Noah: "When you get older you will learn to smile and cry on cue and then you can trick your parents into doing what you want. And then we can rule the world together..."

Smile for the camera

Rosie: "So, are we gonna be a couple cause if not I think Sam might be interested in me..."

Stockton: "Dude! Sam! Wake up! They are ready to take the posed pictured!"

Moms: "Everyone sit still, open your eyes, and smile for the camera!!!!"

This is hanging over Stockton’s crib:

For the last few weeks we have been able to consistently get Stockton to smile at us. It is so rewarding:
We think he is starting to figure out that he has hands. Watch out Davis, he might figure it out before you do…

Being the good little preacher’s kid that he is, Stockton has officially made it through his first liturgical season.
Stockton went to church for the first time on Ash Wednesday. It was a beautiful service, albeit, a little surreal. Walking forward with your newborn in your arms to receive ashes, reminds you just how fragile life is. Then, watching your newborn receive the imposition of ashes, makes you want to turn and run the other way yelling, “No, you will never return to dust!” But alas, Stockton received his ashes with all the faith and wisdom that comes from being with God so recently.

Don't worry Mommy, I am cool with being dust and ashes.
After Ash Wednesday, we missed a few Sundays, since Robert was sick and we were still getting the hang of things. On the first Sunday morning that we were home and actually aware that it was Sunday and we were playing hooky, we sat at the table, enjoying our coffee and leisurely breakfast, and said, “I can see the appeal in this. No wonder so many people like to stay home on Sunday mornings and chillax!” But then we remembered how wonderful our church is and how good they have been to us and we knew that the relaxing Sunday mornings aren’t as wonderful as going to church. Really, no sarcasm intended at all in that statement!
Holy Week was one of my first weeks back at work and Stockton was a trooper, helping to supervise all the activities going on. He helped set up the Spirituality Centers and even walked the labyrinth. He also helped get all the crafts ready for the Easter Egg Hunt! He stayed home with Daddy during the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services, since they interrupted bath time and story time. I mean really, God doesn’t supersede bath time. Cleanliness is next to godliness, right?
Finally we made it all the way through to Easter. And, being the amazing gifted and brilliant child that he is, Stockton all ready knows all the answers to the mystery of the resurrection.

Who was raised from the dead today? Pick me, pick me! I know the answer!

I know this day is all about JC and all- but the bunny is pretty cool too!

So, we went to the Wolverine wedding via Western Kentucky but on the way home we went through Eastern Kentucky so we could spend some time with Morgan’s other side of the family (her Dad’s side). Stockton got to meet Morgan’s cousin Emily, Uncle John Paul and Aunt Patty, Uncle Rick and Aunt Liz, Uncle Billy, Grandma Morse, and Morgan’s parents were there as well. Here are a few pics:

Yep, Stockton has been to several bars already. Tonight was his 3rd bar in his short existence. He has been to the Brickstore Pub and Thinking Man’s Tavern both in Decatur but tonight he attended the Wolverine Wedding pre-party at Yogi’s bar in Bloomington, Indiana. There were so many people that wanted to hold Stockton there that we didn’t even have to worry about Stockton at all. By the end of the night Stockton was passed out…

We asked for beers and they brought us both a pitcher...first time there but it is like they knew our names!

On our way to the Wolverine wedding, we stopped in Bowling Green, Kentucky (home of the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers) to introduce Stockton to some family. Stockton met Morgan’s cousin Keith and his wife Whitney and their daughter Lily and Morgan’s Aunt Nancy and Uncle Dennis. Here are some pics:
